My name is Tamlan Raymond Bachir Saoudi. I am an Algerian British Artist based in the UK.
I graduated with a first in studio practise as a painter from the University of Leeds in 2002. I have been exploring new media and ways in which to project my emotion onto varying surfaces ever since. I consider myself to be a playful artist with a focus on the symbiosis of emotion and media.
I love bold colours and strong contrasts in my painting, drawing and photography. Light, line and texture also play very important roles in my work. My influences are as follows and in no particular order, Yves Klein, James Turrell, Anthony Gormley, Rothko, Paul Klee, Cezanne, Miro, Gerhard Richter, Basquiat, the sky, shadows, dawns, people, dreaming, blue, gold, rust, Kraftwerk, Tom Waits and my family. Enclosed is a selection of work that represents me and my abilities.
